30-minute drive to Sharjah, Dubai's neighbouring emirate and the UAE's Cultural Capital. Morning in the Heart of Sharjah heritage district, a beautifully restored collection of traditional coral-stone buildings, wind towers, and narrow lanes housing the finest museums in the UAE. Visit the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, the Museum of Islamic Civilization, and the Blue Souk for the best handicraft market in the Emirates. Afternoon in the Sharjah Arts Foundation area, a surprising contemporary arts district. Return to Dubai. Overnight Dubai.

💡 Sharjah has strict dress code requirements in public areas. Shoulders and knees must be covered for both men and women in the heritage district and all museums.

90-minute drive inland to Hatta, the mountainous enclave of Dubai territory surrounded by Oman, with a dramatically different landscape of bare granite mountains and deep wadis. Visit the Hatta Heritage Village, an authentic mountain settlement with watchtowers and traditional mud-brick houses. Kayak on the Hatta Dam, a turquoise reservoir surrounded by mountain peaks, then take the mountain bike trails through the rocky landscape. Overnight Hatta or return to Dubai.

💡 Hatta is completely different from the urban Dubai experience and makes an excellent contrast. The mountain biking trails are suitable for all levels and equipment hire is available at the dam.

One-hour drive north to Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate and the most mountainous part of the UAE. Drive up Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the UAE at 1934 metres, for panoramic views over the Hajar Mountains and the coast. Optional ride on the Jebel Jais Flight, the world's longest zip line at 2.83 kilometres. Afternoon traditional desert camp experience in the red sand dunes south of RAK city with falconry demonstration, camel rides, and Bedouin dinner. Overnight Ras Al Khaimah or return to Dubai.

💡 The Jebel Jais zip line is genuinely world-class and the mountain views from the summit are completely different from anywhere else in the UAE. Book in advance as it fills up on weekends.

Drive 90 minutes to Khasab in the Musandam peninsula, an Omani enclave on the Strait of Hormuz. Full day traditional dhow cruise through the dramatic khor inlets, the fjord-like channels cutting between bare limestone mountains directly into the sea. Swim in the clear water, watch wild dolphins bow-ride the dhow, and anchor at a secluded bay for lunch on board. The mountain scenery rising directly from the turquoise water is extraordinary. Return to Dubai. Overnight Dubai.

💡 The Musandam drive crosses briefly into Oman territory. Ensure your UAE visa or transit permit covers the Musandam excursion before booking, as this requires crossing a land border.

Final morning in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood for a walk through the wind-tower district and the Dubai Museum. Abra ride across the creek to the Spice Souk for saffron, frankincense, and dried rose petals to take home. Transfer to Dubai International Airport for your departure. End of tour.

💡 Dubai airport duty-free is genuinely excellent for perfumes, gold jewellery, and Medjool dates. Keep some dirhams for final purchases before checking in.
