Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Jaipur | Amber Fort | Nahargarh Fort Sunset

Arrive in Jaipur and head straight to Amber Fort, the magnificent hilltop Rajput palace with mirrored interiors and sweeping valley views - best visited in the late afternoon light. Drive up to Nahargarh Fort above the city for a panoramic sunset view over the Pink City's rooftops and the Aravalli hills. Dinner at Chokhi Dhani for an authentic Rajasthani folk dinner with cultural performances. Overnight Jaipur.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Amber Fort gets very crowded between 10 AM and 3 PM - go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the rush.
Day 2

City Palace | Jantar Mantar | Hawa Mahal | Johari Bazaar

Morning at City Palace, the grand royal complex still partly occupied by the Jaipur royal family, with excellent museums of arms, textiles, and art. Walk to Jantar Mantar next door, the UNESCO-listed 18th-century astronomical observatory with massive stone instruments that still accurately tell time. Afternoon at Hawa Mahal, the iconic 953-window facade built for royal women to observe street life. End the day browsing Johari Bazaar for gems, silver jewellery, and block-print fabrics. Overnight Jaipur.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Jantar Mantar is best understood with a guide - the instruments look like modern sculpture but each has a precise astronomical function.
Day 3

Jaigarh Fort | Stepwells | Bapu Bazaar Shopping

Morning at Jaigarh Fort, the military fort above Amber housing the world's largest wheeled cannon and stunning hilltop views. Visit Panna Meena Ka Kund, a beautiful geometric stepwell hidden in an Amber neighbourhood and rarely crowded. Afternoon shopping at Bapu Bazaar and Nehru Bazaar for Jaipuri quilts, mojari shoes, and blue pottery. Overnight Jaipur.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Jaigarh Fort is connected to Amber Fort - a single ticket covers both and the walk between them takes about 20 minutes.
Day 4

Birla Temple | Albert Hall Museum | Departure

Morning visit to the stunning white marble Birla Temple built in 1988 with intricate carvings and a peaceful atmosphere. Stop at Albert Hall Museum, Jaipur's oldest museum in a beautiful Indo-Saracenic building with Egyptian mummies and Rajasthani miniature paintings. Transfer to airport or railway station. End of tour.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Buy genuine Jaipuri block-print fabric from Anokhi or Fabindia rather than the tourist bazaars - quality is significantly better.
